Thermal fluid analysis in continuous casting machine molds
Simulation experiment on the influence of the flow state of molten steel flowing into the mold from the immersion nozzle.
In the thermal fluid analysis of the continuous casting machine mold, we conducted a thermal fluid analysis related to the continuous casting equipment in steelmaking plants. We faithfully modeled the mold and immersion nozzle to reproduce the flow within the molten steel bath, which is extremely important for controlling the solidification shell thickness and reducing non-metallic inclusions, making it an essential requirement for high-speed casting equipment. In this analysis, we simulated the impact of the molten steel flowing from the immersion nozzle on the flow state within the mold, as shown in the diagram below.
